STAFF BIOGRAPHIES

Debra Hintz
Parish Director
Debbie has been the parish director of
St. Catherine since July 1, 2006, an appointment made by
Archbishop Timothy Dolan. Parish
Director is the title used in the
Milwaukee Archdiocese for laity and deacons who lead a parish in
place of a priest. In this role, Debbie
provides spiritual leadership and pastoral care to parishioners,
oversees the general operation of the parish, and coordinates
the ministry of worship, education, human concerns and
administration.
Prior to coming to St. Catherine, Debbie
served as pastoral associate at St. Matthias, Milwaukee (1993-
2006) and at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, New Berlin, WI (1989 –
1993). She was also the pastoral minister at St. Margaret Mary,
Milwaukee (1980 – 1988). She came to St. Margaret Mary in 1977
as a jr. high teacher and then moved into parish ministry.
Debbie has an undergrad degree from Mount Mary College in
Milwaukee and a master’s degree in pastoral ministry from Boston
College. She also received a certificate in management from
Marquette University. Debbie is the author of three books of
prayer services, the latest, Near
Us and Within Us, published in
September 2006.

Fr. Michael Kurimay, SJ
Assisting Priest
Fr. Mike
was appointed assisting priest at St. Catherine by Archbishop
Dolan in July 2006. He is responsible for providing for the
sacramental needs of the parish, that is, Sunday and weekday
celebrations of Eucharist, as well as baptisms, funerals,
weddings, and anointings of the sick.
Fr. Mike
is originally from Minneapolis. He entered the Jesuits in 1961.
He has taught in Jesuit high schools and universities and has
also been an administrator on both levels.
In
addition to serving at St. Catherine, Fr. Mike currently lives
with the Jesuit retirement community at St. Camillus, helping
with day to day needs, and enjoying the fellowship of men he’s
known all his Jesuit life. He is also a big Packer fan.

Fr. Richard
Mirsberger
Assisting Priest
Fr. Dick is a native of Sheboygan. He
entered the seminary right out of eighth grade. He spent his
high school years and the first two years of college at
Salvatorian Seminary in St. Nazianz, WI. Then he transferred to
St. Francis Seminary for two years of philosophy and four years
of theology. On May 28th
of 1966, he was ordained by Archbishop William E. Cousins.
Over the next
forty-two years he ministered in four parishes. He began as an
associate at St. Joseph Parish in Fond du Lac for seven years,
and then moved to St. Margaret Mary Parish in Milwaukee for the
next eight years. In 1981 he was named pastor of St. Joseph
Parish in Wauwatosa where he ministered for twelve years. Then
in 1993 he was assigned as pastor of St. Rita Parish in West
Allis where he retired from full-time ministry this past June.
He joined the staff of St. Catherine as an assisting priest in
August 2008.

Deacon Dan Zozakiewicz
Deacon Dan began ministering at St. Catherine
in October 2006. His areas of ministry include visitation to the
homebound and those who are hospitalized, working with our
bereavement ministers, functioning as deacon at one weekend
liturgy each week, and presiding at baptisms, weddings, funeral
vigils, and communion services.
Dan was ordained in 1994. He previously
served at Holy Family Parish, Whitefish Bay, for five years and
St. Robert Parish, Milwaukee, for seven years. Dan worked in
administration for large companies before becoming the business
manager at Holy Family, a position he held for six years. He and
his wife, Bobbie, have been married for over 50 years and had
four children.

Nicole Fastabend
Director of Christian Formation
Nicole is new to our staff as of July 2008.
She is responsible for the grade school and high school
religious education programs as well as sacramental preparation
and youth ministry. She will also work with other staff in
developing adult formation opportunities.
Nicole is a recent graduate from Marquette
University. This past spring she received a Bachelor of Arts in
both Theology and Philosophy. While finishing school this past
year, Nicole served as the Youth Minister at Casa Romero, an
outreach and retreat center on Milwaukee’s south side. In
addition to her time at Casa Romero, Nicole has directed
retreats and volunteered in youth ministry activities in the
Archdiocese throughout her college career.
Although originally from Minnesota, Nicole calls the Milwaukee
area home, having lived here for the last 10 years. Nicole is
excited for the opportunity to work on the staff at St.
Catherine and is looking forward to being a part of this faith
community.

James D. Stout
Director of Liturgy and Music
Jim joined our staff in July 2007. He serves
the parish as principal musician, organist and choir director
and directs the parish’s worship. He oversees all liturgical
ministries and is responsible for liturgy planning. He works
with our Prayer and Worship Committee and is a member of the
Tri-Parish Worship Committee.
Jim has 18 years experience as a Director of
Liturgy and Music, serving in several Catholic parishes. He has
a Master of Arts degree in theology with specific emphasis in
liturgical studies from Notre Dame University and a Bachelor of
Fine Arts degree in music education from the University of
Wisconsin – Milwaukee. He and his wife, Mary, have four grown
children and one grandson. They live on the family farm in
Germantown with Mary’s dad and one of their daughters and her
family. They hope to develop the farm into a self-sustaining
organic, bio-dynamic family farm.

Linda Kuhn
School Principal
Linda joined our staff in August 1979. Prior
to being named principal in June of 2004, she taught first
grade, second grade, and third grade and served as librarian and
the technology teacher. As principal Linda is responsible for
the day to day operations of the school, the supervision of the
school staff, and, most importantly, the academic, spiritual,
and emotional growth and well-being of the students of St.
Catherine School. She works with our School Committee, Home and
School Board, Christian Formation Committee and the Northwest
Catholic Athletic Board.
Linda earned her undergraduate degree from
the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire, has a Master of
Education degree in Technology in Education from Leslie College,
and recently earned a Masters of Education in Administrative
Leadership from Cardinal Stritch University in Milwaukee.
Linda and her husband Geoff have been members
of St. Catherine of Alexandria parish for 31 years. They have
four adult children and five grandchildren.

Shari Brennan
Director of Administrative Services
Shari became the parish office business
manager in July 1998. In that capacity she also served as parish
secretary. In May 2007, her position changed to Director of
Administrative Services. She is responsible for parish
administrative needs in finance, buildings and grounds, and
personnel. Shari is a member of the Administrative
Services/Finance Committee. She is also involved with our garden
committee.

Charmaine Pfeifer
Parish Administrative Assistant
Charmaine
joined the staff at St. Catherine as Christian Formation
Assistant in 1999. In May 2007, she became our Parish
Administrative Assistant. In that capacity she serves as
receptionist in the parish office, edits the weekly bulletin,
schedules facilities and coordinates the parish calendar, and
assists with administrative tasks for parish staff and
volunteers. She also continues to serve as the assistant for
Christian Formation programs.

John Loberg
Head Maintenance
John
joined the staff at St. Catherine in 1989. He is responsible for
building and grounds maintenance and routine repairs and
cleaning. John works with all outside contractors that provide
buildings and grounds services for the parish. He also
supervises part-time maintenance staff. John serves as the staff
liaison to the Buildings and Grounds Committee.
