Christian Formation Program
Grade School Christian Formation
The Children’s Ministry Program of
our parish seeks to provide children with the knowledge, experiences,
and skills necessary to become faithful and fruitful disciples of Jesus.
Parents are the primary educators in the faith, and we are partners with
you in your child’s faith journey. Class sessions are held on Wednesday
nights from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. in the school. Prayer services and Mass on
special days are part of the curriculum. Parents are encouraged to take
an active part in their child’s Christian formation through these prayer
experiences, as well as parent meetings and other family faith formation
opportunities.
There are many aspects to our Youth Ministry and High School Faith Formation programs here at St. Catherine. High school students in grade 9 through 11 meet regularly throughout the school year, in both large and smaller grade-specific groups, to learn about and discuss our Catholic faith in a way that prepares students to live as Catholic Christians within both the parish community and the wider community. We discuss a variety of topics including Catholic doctrine, scripture, morality, the sacraments, and how to live as Christian disciples in our world. Formation for juniors in high school focuses largely on preparation for Confirmation. Yearly retreats, service opportunities, Youth Group and a variety of community life activities are also part of our programs.
